Maddison and David were wanting a simple ceremony followed by a casual party type reception where all their nearest and dearest could relax and enjoy themselves. Having settled on holding the reception on their parents’ property they then needed to find somewhere special for a relaxed ceremony.
They first looked at the garden in August 2023, and although it was still the middle of winter, once they had seemed photos of previous weddings in mid-October, they were keen to book.
They return to the garden a few weeks before their wedding day and found it difficult to decide exactly where they wanted to hold their ceremony. They liked both the black arbour at the back of the property and the area in front of the lake bridge. The area in front of the bridge won out and that is where we set up the arbour and chairs. They also decided that they wanted to complete their paperwork in the gazebo as they loved the look of it as well.
The day was cool and overcast to begin with but cleared to a bright sunny afternoon.
With the alpine phlox still in flower and all the bright green of the new leaves on all the trees the garden was looking lush and colourful.
The simplicity of the small wooden arbour draped with sheer fabric highlight the garden surrounding it rather than being the centre of attention.
Maddison’s brother was happy to set up and play the guitar to entertain people as they arrived and to provide the music to accompany Maddison down the aisle.
Fiona King officiated over the ceremony, and it was all beautifully digitally captured by Let capture media.
After the completion of the ceremony and family photos, guests moved on to Davids parents’ property to commence the celebrations whilst Madison and David completed their portrait shots with in the garden.
Once these were done, they joined their family and friends at the reception and celebrated the occasion with the enthusiasm it deserved.
