A later than normal flowering season saw the garden at it’s spring best for Sophie and Drew’s wedding day.

With a reception booked at the Robertson Public House and Kitchen, Sophie and Drew came to see the garden to see if it worked with the vision they had for their big day.

As soon as I showed them images of the Wisteria Arbour, Sophie was sold. It is her mothers favourite flower and they knew it would create a lovely backdrop for their ceremony.

Sophie’s dad built the arbour and made sure it was well built as the newlyweds intended to take it home, put it up in their backyard and convert it into a swing. A permanent reminder of their wedding day.

Sophie and Drew chose to have our vintage desk and chairs for the signing of documents. With it up against the mauve Alpine phlox it created a beautiful backdrop.

Rain overnight and in the morning, had everyone a little on edge and though the clouds rolled away  by lunch time, there was a  short sharp shower just as guests arrived and another during the ceremony. This saw everyone grabbing umbrellas to stay dry. Rain at your wedding day is very lucky so here to lots of good luck for couple for many years to come.

Sophie and Drews wedding saw the return of some familiar faces to The Secret Garden, with the bouquets being created by Taylor Made Bouquets and the ceremony conducted by Narelle Murray.

The arbour floral installations were a combination of white roses, chrysanthemums, snapdragons, dahlias, and carnations. They looked stunning against the black of the painted arbour.

Sophie and her attendants, not wanting to travel an hour in their dresses, arrived in a Mercedes stretch limo in bright red satin pjs and quickly headed for the powder room to get ready.

By the time the girls were ready the rain had ceased, and everyone was able to take their seats to witness the young couple exchange their vows.

The brides maid’s wore a soft pink and both theirs and Sophie’s bouquets were again a combination of white roses, chrysanthemums, snapdragons, dahlias, and carnations.

Following the ceremony, Sophie, Drew and their guests,  went onto the reception to continue their celebrations.

As always, we wish the happy couple all the best for their future together.
