I can still remember when Ellie, Stuart and their families came to have the tour of The Secret Garden, they were just so excited to find a garden that held everything they wanted – plenty of roses in blooms, mature trees, lush green lawns, a lake, easy access and plenty of room for all their guest
They were quite specific about wanting to get married when the roses were at their best.
So armed with this information they went back to their reception venue to try and secure the date Although the preferred date of the 24th November was unable the 1st of December was and this is the date they chose.
Ellie was so taken with The Rose Lawn not only because of the roses but it is an enclosed space that will seat over 100 people and where their chosen car, a vintage car could pull up where all the guest could see it. No point in having fancy cars if they are not seen. The garden is divided by a 30 m Wisteria Arbour which allows brides to make a grand entrance before proceeding down the aisle created with our lovely white folding chairs.
We were able to supply, from the garden, baskets of white rose petals that were given to the gorgeous flower girls who artfully tossed them as they walked down the aisle to create a beautiful petal lined walk for Ellie.
The girls from Owl + Pussy Cat arrived and set up their beautiful arbour dripping with dahlias, delphiniums, roses and chrysanthemums with a dramatic spray of phalaenopsis orchids to finish it off.
They also set up a drinks and food table under the wisteria arbour so that guest could catch up over refreshments after the ceremony and whilst the bridal party were getting photos taken.
The day dawned perfect and the air was filled with the perfume of roses with butterflies fluttering around the garden all of which made for picture perfect wedding ceremony and photography session.
After the post ceremony drinks the bridal party and their guest travelled into Bowral to complete the festivities at their reception location.
