We were thrilled to host the wedding of Emma + Ben in The Secret Garden in October.
What started as a day with moody skies eventually turned to rain, but a bit of preparation meant that no matter what these two were going to get married outside – and that’s a good lesson to all. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of rain on your wedding day if you’re prepared.
Emma and her bridal party dressed the Wisteria Arbour with stunning Chinese lanterns for portraits and she walked onto the property with her dad here. It makes for a really dramatic solution for those times of the year when the Wisteria isn’t in full bloom.
Emma didn’t want to arrive in a car as many of our brides do, and instead walked with her dad and bridal party through our Birch Walk. This afforded some guests a sneaky glimpse of the bride which really added to the drama of the moment.

Emma + Ben got married in Megan’s Garden under the beautiful Chinese Elm. With 80 guests in attendance, this garden area felt intimate without being tightly squeezed.
The space was dressed simply by the talented Kate from Two Wild Hands. Beautiful draped fabric and silver dollar gums sourced from the property made for beautiful aisle flowers without competing with the space. For the petal toss, Kate was also able to source everything she needed from the property, using a mix of camelia and blossom petals, which contributes greatly to creating a sustainable wedding.
The rain began in the middle of the ceremony, but Emma was more than prepared. Clear umbrella’s made for a really modern solution to the rain for guests without detracting from the space.
Emma and Ben chose to get their portraits taken all over the property, from the Veggie Garden through to the Wisteria Arbour and with the beautiful Dogwoods in bloom. This gives their wedding photos truly unique looks at each stage of the day.
Congratulations to Emma and Ben on a truly beautiful wedding day.
