We were thrilled to work with the beautiful Grace and Adam to help them create their dream wedding day in The Secret Garden. They wanted to get married in a beautiful garden and have after ceremony drinks and nibbles in a relaxed and casual setting before going onto their reception venue.

Grace and Adam unfortunately had their original wedding ceremony venue pull out on them only months before their wedding so came to us desperate to find a new venue. We had the date available, so they booked to view the property within days and were so happy with what they saw that they completed the paperwork and paid on the day.

The biggest issue, as they were getting married on the 19th of January, was concern for their guests sitting in full sun if the temperatures were high.  They looked at several shaded areas including The Wisteria Arbour, but really wanted to have the ceremony in The Rose Garden which is quite open with plenty of space for all their family and friends.

We allowed them to hold off on their final ceremony site selection until the week before the wedding, when a more accurate weather forecast was available. WE are always more than happy to be flexible and accommodating for our couples who book into the garden, as our primary focus is making sure that you have the day of your dreams.

Grace and Adam were blessed with the weather and after a week of temperature in the high 30’s, the predicted cool change arrived and not only were the temperatures mild, but the garden was shrouded in ethereal fog which made the whole scene quite magical. This is a very common occurrence in the Southern Highlands through later summer, namely January and February – if you’re going to hold a wedding in summer, the Wildes Meadow might just be the coolest place to be.

Again because of the risk of hot weather, the couple had decided to get most of their photos done before the ceremony, when they were fresh and looking their best. Such a great idea as this allowed them to spend time after the ceremony relaxing and enjoying their guests company rather than being off with the photographer.

The Photographer, Matt from Evoke Photography, made full use of all the garden areas and captured some fabulous shots of the couple, their bridal party and their guests.

After a couple of hours of relaxing with post ceremony drinks, Grace, Adam and their guest, drove to the near by Robertson Public House for a lovely reception capping off what was a magical day for them.

Wishing Grace and Adam the best for their future lives together and thank you for allowing The Secret Garden to be part of your special day!
