After Jess and David had made the decision to get married, they decided they wanted to pull something together in just a couple of months. This meant they needed to get around and view venues and make decisions quickly so they could lock in everything for the date they wanted in early November.

When they come to view the garden, it was on a cold and wet day in August. Being a cold climate garden and very seasonal, it was hard for them to imaging what the garden was going to look like in 3 months’ time. After seeing photos from previous November weddings, they were sure that it was the space that they wanted and booked the garden. At that stage, they did not know if they wanted just the ceremony or both the ceremony and reception to be held here.

Given the amount of work involved in putting on a DIY wedding reception they realised they did not have the skills or time to pull something together so booked their reception at the Robertson Public House and Kitchen and used The Secret Garden for their ceremony, to have photos taken in and to do after ceremony drinks and nibbles.

Jess and David decided that The Fountain Garden was where they wanted to conduct their ceremony with guests moving over to The Rose Lawn for post-ceremony refreshments.

Jess decided on flower arrangements supported on plinths in a range of pastel colours, which really popped against the backdrop of the evergreen hedges and large trees in all their new spring growth.

The day dawned bright and sunny with a few wispy clouds in the sky- it really was a perfect spring day.

The Rose Lawn was sent up with umbrellas for shade and the drinks and food tables were set up under The Wisteria Arbour.

The post ceremony catering was supplied by Cooked by Julia, a local based in Robertson, who also did the wedding cake for the reception. The couple’s family organised drinks for the guests, whilst we suppled tables, cloths and drinks buckets.

The guests enjoy a relaxing couple of hours celebrating with the couple and strolling through the grounds whilst photos were taken.

After some final sun set shots the bride and groom and their guests travelled the 10 minutes to Robertson to continue their celebrations at the Robertson Public House and Kitchen.

As always, we wish Jess and David all the best for their future together.
