Judy and Victor first came to visit the garden in June 2022 wanting a ceremony space that was both unique and full of beautiful spring blooms.

It is hard to visualise a spring garden when viewing it in winter but after seeing a large array of images from previous years they were thrilled to be able to book The Secret Garden for their big day.

They started their celebrations the day before with a traditional tea ceremony.

The tradition of the tea ceremony goes back to the Tang dynasty in China and represents a wedding and the joining of two families. Today it is a way for the families’ welcoming the bride or groom into their respective families.

Judy, being in the design, marketing and branding industry was motivated to create a wedding that was both visually stunning but extremely well organized that ran like clockwork.  With some careful planning and several spreadsheets, she achieved this spectacularly.

It was a stunning spring day with a temperature of 19 degrees and clear bright blue skies.

They chose to hold their ceremony on the crab apple lawn surrounded by azaleas and alpine phlox in full bloom. The cherry blossoms were out along the cherry walk and the azalea lawn was spectacular with an array of different coloured azaleas.

They wanted everyone seated for the ceremony so hired extra chairs from Highlands Marquees to make the number up to 70.

Anna the florist arrived early to complete a beautiful white and green installation long with aisle and welcome sign arrangements. Her combination of white roses, fairy statice, babies breath, delphiniums and Phalaenopsis orchids was just stunning.

The couple duo Jess and Matt, with their trademark harmonies, provided entertainment before, during and after the ceremony and then continued onto the reception venue to provide further entertainment as the celebrations continued.

After vows were exchange and paperwork completed Victor and Judy, and their quests, shared some refreshments on the rose lawn before making their way back to Sydney to continue their celebrations at The Highline Venue.

As always, we wish Judy and Victor all the best for their future together.

The Secret Garden Team.
