Katie and Stuart first visited The Secret Garden during the Robertson Open Gardens a few years ago. While they took some time to plan their wedding, we were thrilled to welcome them into The Secret Garden for their wedding.

They obviously like what they saw and re-visited several months later to re-confirm how they could visualise their wedding set up in the garden and to decide on where it would all be set up.

Mid spring is such a wonderful time in the Secret Garden with the trees and lawn in their beautiful dark green spring foliage and with classic spring flowers such as foxgloves, iris, delphiniums ranunculus and anemones all in bloom. By mid-November the roses are starting to flower filling the garden with perfume and completing the picture of the perfect spring flower display.

Katie and Stuart chose to have  a small intimate wedding with their closest family and friends, which included quite a few children so why looking for a space where they could run around and enjoy themselves.

They chose The Fountain Garden for the ceremony where the maid of honour and the grooms mother decorated the arbour with blooms selected from the garden. They used ranunculus, anemone, foxgloves and iris, complimented by ivy and camellia foliage, to create some unique floral arrangements.

Katie also decided to line the aisle with beautiful pink rose petals, something a little different but still stunning.

The bride looked gorgeous in her 1950’s inspired dress and beautiful parasol and the groom very dapper in his felted fedora.

After the ceremony to bride and groom and their guest moved to The Rose Lawn to have post ceremony drinks and to cut the wedding cake.

They spent several hour enjoying the garden and taking some wonderful photos and video throughout the property before moving on to a local restaurant for dinner. Your wedding day should personify who you are and how you want to celebrate, and Katie and Stuart certainly achieved that.

Their celebrations were completed several weeks later with a large backyard party for their wider circle of friends and family.

Congratulations to Katie and Stuart on an incredible wedding. We loved being able to share our gardens with your nearest and dearest on your special day.
