Priscilla and Jane approached The Secret Garden looking for a beautiful backdrop to their wedding ceremony. As friends of Ben + Emma who got married here a few years before, they were aware of the garden, and as their families lived between Sydney and Goulburn, the Southern Highlands seemed the perfect spot for a big family wedding.
They toured the garden in a few different seasons, including during our Open Garden weekend, between when they were first engaged and when they had their wedding, allowing them to see many different faces of the garden. They chose to get married under the Tulip Tree on the edge of our ornamental lake, a spot that is quickly becoming a favourite amoungst our couples with Judy + Victor, Belle + Joe and Yvette + Mark all being married there in the last 12 months.
Priscilla and Jane wanted a cool weather wedding, and they couldn’t have chosen a better weekend for it. The day was absolutely stunning. August is often dry in our part of the Southern Highlands, but with the bright sunshine of their day it was warm and comfortable for their guests, while still having the crisp feel of a winter wedding and no stifling heat for the couple. With bright blue skies, bare trees and the first flush of cherry blossom, the garden was a picture for the happy couple.
They chose to have both their first look portraits taken in the garden, and their group photos and personal portraits. With so many rooms within the garden to choose from, you have so many options for different backdrops which provide incredible variety to your wedding photos. With something always flowering in the garden, there’s always a special spot of blossom or blooms to create something truly magical as a stand-out portrait from your big day.
Priscilla and Jane chose to provide a large grazing table and drinks for their guests under the Wisteria Arbour, all of which was catered for by their friends and family. At The Secret Garden, you can always choose to self cater or bring in the vendors that you choose to make your day exactly the way you want it.
After their beautiful wedding ceremony, Priscilla, Jane and their guests went to The Robertson Public House + Kitchen to have their reception. This combination of ceremony and reception venue is very popular with our couples, offering the best of both our garden setting and food + beverage packages for the reception.
As always, thank you to Priscilla and Jane for choosing The Secret Garden for your beautiful wedding and we wish you all the best for your future.
