Shelby and Joel had planned to get married in April 2020 with a garden ceremony at The Secret Garden followed by a reception at a local hotel, but Covid-19 soon put a stop to that. New dates were set and then cancelled again.

By November, being thoroughly over trying to re-choose dates and reorganise everything, both Shelby and Joel just wanted to get married, and so moved the whole celebration to The Secret Garden. They did a remarkable job of pulling everything together in record time to create the wedding that they wanted.

By holding the celebrations outside, social distancing and other Covid restrictions were less rigid than for an indoor setting, allowing them to have more guests and an event that was more to their taste.

The garden is just gorgeous in mid-November with all the trees finally in full leaf, the roses out and wonderful splashes of colour from the Mollis Azaleas.

They had settled on The Rose Lawn for their ceremony and a cocktail style reception with finger food, plenty of drinks and live music on the adjacent lawn.

But that was not to be either, with mother nature taking a hand in the days proceedings and sending a storm to dampen everyone’s day. With last-minute resetting of the ceremony site and the installation of marquees, everyone was kept dry during the proceedings.

Whilst it rained during the ceremony, the weather did clear enough for Shelby and Joel to get some wonderful photos of their special day across the garden, and it certainly did not reduce the celebration in any way with the couple and their guest enjoying the day with gusto.

Shelby and Joel were a delightful couple, and we were so pleased to be able to help them out so they could finally get married.

We wish them all the best for their future together and we are sure they have some wonderful memories of their Big Day.
