Having booked their reception at the nearby Robertson Public House and Kitchen, Kelly and Scott came and viewed the garden looking for a lovely spot to get married in. They also wanted to do post-ceremony drinks and nibbles to keep the family together whilst photos were being taken.

They were delighted with what they found at The Secret Garden and booked shortly after viewing the grounds.

They chose the Rose Garden in which to get married with post-ceremony drinks under the arbour and on the adjacent lawn.

Kelly was hoping to create a relaxed cocktail-style event and ordered some gorgeous furniture from YES Event Eolutions, consisting of bar tables and stools, large market umbrella and low casual tables, all in white.

All these decisions were made pre covid, so the years of 2020 and 2021 were quite stressful for Kelly and Scott, wondering if their wedding would ever eventuate.
Then come the major lockdown and strict restrictions in the middle of 2021. With this escalation, contingencies plan were put in place in case their wedding had to be postponed till 2022

It wasn’t until then end of October that the reception venue contacted them to say yes it could all go ahead. They were so happy.

The Gazebo by the lake- always dry and frames this image beautifully

Then it started to rain, with the local area experiencing one of our wettest Novembers on record. The garden was absolutely sodden, and it rain heavily the day before and on the day of the wedding.

Even the wet weather contingency of gazebos had to be abandoned for the drier underfoot Deck area. With drinks on the veranda and paved terrace area.

The day was cold. So, with heaters on, the outside fire lit and Cocktail furniture in place, the wedding ceremony proceeded without a hitch and the rain ceased for the after-ceremony drinks allowing everyone to enjoy their afternoon and get some great photos in and around the garden.

Kelly, being the sensible girl she is, opted to wear her joggers for the ceremony and phots knowing how wet it was and saved her bridal shoes for the reception.

Late afternoon saw everyone head off to Robertson to continue the celebrations.

Whist the whole process of organising a wedding during a pandemic, and with the added complication of wet weather, it was stressful time for Kelly and Scott. But it will all form part of their wedding story that they will remember forever.

If necessary the verandah, with its beautiful backdrop of the garden, makes for memorable photos

We wish them all the best for their future together.
